The Sydenham Comedy Festival at Poodle Club is pleased to present two feature shows for a full evening of live comedy entertainment.

ALISTAIR BARRIE: ALISTAIRCRATIC
After a completely sold out 2018 Edinburgh Festival run, Alistair cancelled his 2019 show as his wife was giving birth, then took 2020 off to SINGLE-HANDEDLY battle Covid before returning north in 2021 for a short run, where he caught it and spent the next week in a basement with the dog, Netflix and and no children, which was one of the happiest weeks of his life. He then wasted precious time writing his new show only for Vladimir Putin to render most of it obsolete. His latest hour of topical musings on Boris Johnson, global pandemics, fatherhood, Ukraine and how everything would be better if he was in charge now comes to The Poodle Club before hopefully making it to Edinburgh in August. But you can't be sure of anything these days. 'A no???? frills master of his craft' ?????? (The Scotsman).

TONY LAW: A NEW BEGIN IN AGAIN
Neanderthal Canadian Trinidadian Northern Irish Loon Law brings his half baked thoughts on the last couple of years and a little time travel to boot.

It might not always make sense but it?s always funny. Farm boy blue collar surreal absurdity in his own very unique style. For those with a different take or taste in comedy.

Please note: We are an intimate boutique comedy theatre bar, so PLEASE ARRIVE IN GOOD TIME to get drinks and be seated for the smooth running of the show and everyone's enjoyment. Seating is first-come first-served, so early arrival is recommended.

Fresh hot popcorn, snacks and sweets are available at the bar. We do not accept cash at the bar or box office, card payments only.

We have installed a new state-of-the-art ventilation system which delivers 500 litres of fresh air per second, making us one of the best ventilated small venues in the country. In keeping with the current guidelines, mask wearing is at your discretion, and we have returned to our normal cinema-style row seating. We do ask that if you are feeling unwell or test positive, please stay at home and we will be happy to reschedule your visit up to 3pm on the day of the show.
