We are thrilled to announce the 6th Bowie's Beckenham Oddity festival, an event that has been fundraising for the Bowie Bandstand Restoration and Plaque Fund since August 2016. This year we are raising money for three outstanding charities the Terrrence Higgins Trust, Cabaret Vs Cancer & Stt Christopher's Hospice.

The bandstand is situated in the grounds of Croydon Rd Recreation Ground, Beckenham BR3 3NR and in august 1969 David Bowie not only co-organised the original festival but he also performed there, in his set that day was a reggae version of Space Oddity with Tony Visconti.

Please note the following if you will be attending the Bowie's Beckenham Oddity Festival saturday, august 13th......

You may bring your own chairs, picnic blankets and picnics.
The event is licensed for alcohol but you cannot consume alcohol outside of the area hired for the event, as the rest of the park is an alcohol exclusion zone.
No alcohol in glass bottles will be allowed at the event, cans are fine.
Sealed water and canned drinks are permitted.
No glasses or glass jugs are permitted.

There will be security at the event ( Bromley events team rules) and there will be bag searches at the gate on arrival. This is for your safety as well as for the event.

Please also note that the selling of any items (apart from the licensed stalls) is not permitted and anyone caught selling in this way will have their items confiscated and they will be removed from the event.
We all have to follow rules ( even us! )

The Bowie Bandstand Restoration work will start in September this year and the launch party is expected to be in April 2023.
