Grateful Fred has asked two of Liverpool's leading Americana and acoustic music duos, "The Good Intentions" and "Tennessee Waltz", to get together to present a joint evening of live acoustic music in the very intimate setting of Southport's Bijou Cinema Lounge.
"The Good Intentions" are husband and wife duo R Peter Davies and Gabrielle Monk.
Based in Liverpool, they emerged as part of the new wave of UK alt-country acts. Fusing old-time country with a traditional British sensitivity, they have developed their own singular voice and sound. In 2011, they were voted Best Americana Band at the British Country Music Awards.
Their songs are rooted in the timeless music carried to America by the emigrants from the British Isles, most of whom departed from the very port where Peter and Gabrielle live.
The Good Intentions are bringing that music home. Playing mostly original compositions with mainly acoustic instruments, and singing close harmonies, they are often complimented on record and on stage by additional occasional band members.
They have so far released four albums under their own name, and collaboration with California?s "I See Hawks In LA". A new album is planned for 2022. They have toured the UK, the US, and on the Continent, and have guested on the legendary Bob Harris Country show on BBC Radio.

"Tennessee Waltz", are a highly experienced acoustic vocal harmony duo with a passion for all things country and Americana.
Consisting of critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Jimmy Rae on vocals and guitar, and Sarah-Lou Fletcher on vocals, percussion, guitar and mandolin, the duo are known from the successful Americana trio, Jimmy Rae & the Moonshine Girls (jrmoonshinegirls.com).
Playing an infectious mix of original, classic and contemporary country foot tappers and thoughtful intimate ballads, their complementary vocal harmonies are very much at the heart of their sound.
With their trademark vocal harmonies and fun on-stage banter, they have been entertaining audiences across the North West for the past 3 years, and play their own original songs and songs from their repertoire of some of the greatest Country and Americana flavoured songs from the last 50 years, from Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Eddie Cochran, the Everly Brothers, Dolly Parton, Roy Orbison, Bruce Springsteen, Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), The Eagles, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris and Bob Dylan, through to the recent hits of Chris Isaak, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Lady Antebellum and The Shires.
