Featuring: Adriano Adewale on vocals and percussion, Gustavo Roriz on bass, and Sam Watts on piano.

Following the pathways inspired by the great master musicians of his homeland, Adewale?s trio?s project, ?Work of Sounds?, is based on Afro-Brazilian music traditions. They create a journey where urban and rural sounds meet traditional and contemporary ways of music-making. The resulting in a blend of delicious grooves, beautiful melodies and rich textures of exquisite soundscapes.

Through a subtle and vibrant creative touch, the audience will have a fascinating evening listening to and experiencing the trio painting, storytelling, and performing a unique and uplifting concert.

Over the years Adriano has worked as a curator and artistic director. In 2009-2010 Adriano was an artist in residence at the Lakeside Theatre in Colchester. Amongst other activities, he curated ?Festival Brasileiro?, which involved theatre, dance, music, and fine arts from Brazil, and challenged presiding conceptions of Brazilian culture. As part of the festival, he arranged and conducted the Essex Youth Jazz Ensembles.

Adriano has performed with leading musicians including the great singer Bobby McFerrin and pianist Joanna MacGregor combining classical, jazz, and contemporary classical music. The Britten Sinfonia performed one of Adriano?s pieces at the City of London Festival, together with Joanna McGregor, which was broadcast on the BBC.
