Genre : Music - Jazz/latin

Description

Loucin is a vocalist and songwriter based in London. She is a storyteller of her own experiences as well as the experiences of those who are marginalised and discriminated against in society. Her inspiration comes through the personal struggles of self-worth, identity, the impacting layers of societal injustices, and the beauty in human connection, and self-growth. She is of British Armenian heritage and speaks from that perspective, which influences not only her lyrics but the music itself. Her track Displaced was written about the experiences of her own family members during the Armenian genocide, and the challenges facing all diasporas of having to establish a life in a foreign land whilst trying to keep your own culture alive.

Loucin?s influences are rooted in Jazz, Neo Soul, and RnB including artists such as Erykah Badu, Hiatus Kaiyote, Cleo Sol and Jill Scott.

She began to express her love for jazz and swing as vocalist in Leeds University Big Band and continued to develop through Tomorrow?s Warrior?s as lead vocalist in the Female Frontline, backing vocalist for Poppy Ajudha and Cherise.

Loucin?s original project combines of soulful vocals, unusual rhythms, and punchy horns; songs to dance to, vibe to or weep to. Her music has been played on radio stations such as Jazz FM, Soho Radio and Worldwide FM. Having received funding from MOBO Help Musicians 2020 she has recorded and released her debut EP, Anoosh.

?Loucin has a way to evoke magic with her singing and composition. It?s like having a one-on-one conversation whenever she performs.? - Gary Crosby OBE, Tomorrow?s Warriors.

Her band features - Tash Keary ? Drums, Isobella Burnham ? Bass, Jelly Cleaver - Guitar, Lilly Vasil ? Flute, Lorenz Okello ? Keyboard.
