After nearly thirty albums over decades on the music scene, Aswad remains one of Britain?s best loved reggae bands, with their rich melodies and compelling harmonies, woven over hard rhythm tracks and inspired horn riffs.

When their debut release, ?Back To Africa?, hit the #1 slot on the UK Reggae Charts in 1976, and after a series of successful singles and albums on Island and CBS, Aswad earned international acclaim with their ?Don?t Turn Around? (1988), and ?Shine? (1994). They have have toured extensively Worldwide, recorded and playing better than ever!!

Formed in the late seventies, Aswad, along with UB40, quickly became one of the most important reggae artists to ever emerge from the UK. Early hits such as Warrior Charge and Three Babylon established the band a massive following, culminating in a UK number one hit with Don?t Turn Around in 1988. The band continued their assault on the UK pop charts with tracks such as Give A Little Love, 54-46 Was My Number, Shine, Shy Guy, If I Was, Beauty?s Only Skin Deep, and Set Them Free amongst many more, working with The Wailers, Sting, Vanessa Mae, Janet Kay and Jah Shaka in the processs
