Delightful, frightening, strange and hysterically funny, this is a truly
special festival band whose live shows are legendary. Frontman Mik puffs,
pants, roars and croons like a dream, always with a twinkle in his eye. Iggy
Pop is their biggest fan: toasting them on National Public Radio in
America, he proclaimed their song Sweet Leaf of the North 'the song of
the decade', and he often features them on his 6Music show Iggy
Confidential. With a new double album entitled Boom released at the end
of 2020, Mik and his Ego Trip compadres are raring to go.
Ashburton Arts Centre is a community-owned and run place where the arts of all kinds happen.
It opened in 2018 in the town's old Methodist Church. Come see world-class live music, theatre, etc plus local performers, classes and community events.
