Trinity Orchestra and friends return to Harrow Arts Centre for a complete concert performance of one of the most popular operas ever written, Bizet?s Carmen.
Conductor John Andrews once again brings together a stellar cast of celebrated vocal soloists, including Charmian Bedford, James Cleverton, Victoria Simmons (pictured above) and Alexander Robin Baker, who reprises the role of Don José which he performed recently at Opera Holland Park.
Based on Prosper Mérimée?s novella of 1845, the opera is set in Seville, and portrays the story of Don José in a narrative of lust and obsession, as he is seduced by the alluring Spanish gypsy, Carmen. It is full of wonderful music and well-known, colourful tunes, including the 'Habanera' and 'Toreador Song'.
Join John Andrews for a free pre-concert talk at 7pm.
