Formed in lockdown through a series of remote rehearsals online, Spinningwork is a collaborative project of four established bandleaders and composers. Playing new compositions by all four members and with collective free improvisation at its heart, the band features Tom Ward (alto saxophone), Cath Roberts (baritone saxophone), Olie Brice (double bass) and Johnny Hunter (drums).
This evening will mark the launch of the band's album on the Newcastle-based New Jazz and Improvised Music Recordings label.
