THVC presents northern folk experimentalists and storytelling trio Harp and a Monkey performing their acclaimed 'War Stories' album in this special show to mark Armistice Day 2022.
Originally commissioned by the Western Front Association and Arts Council England for the centenary of the conflict, 'War Stories' records the forgotten aspects of war - the postmen delivering bad news everyday, the conscientious objectors who were jailed, the targeting of Charlie Chaplin - combining original songs with traditional tunes, some of which date back centuries.
Described as a thematically rich and profoundly moving album, 'War Stories' , showcases the bands storytelling prowess, shedding light on the untold experiences of World War 1 in a masterful and poetic way.
