This is the next installment of the Blue Vanguard club's monthly residency at Ashburton Arts Centre, featuring some of the UK's finest jazz soloists with the South West's premier rhythm section. This time joined by the renowned trumpeter, Dick Pearce.
Dick has had an interestingly varied musical career. From playing in Bill Ashton's national youth jazz orchestra at the age of 15, playing in the military for a short time in his late teens and then going on to play freer music with the likes of Graham Collier.
In 1980 Dick joined the Ronnie Scott Quintet, with whom he travelled all over the world for the following 14 years.
In more recent years Dick has been heard with - Alan Barnes / Don Weller?s ?Tribute to Cannonball Adderley Band?.
Ashburton Arts Centre is a community-owned and run place where the arts of all kinds happen.
It opened in 2018 in the town's old Methodist Church. Come see world-class live music, theatre, etc plus local performers, classes and community events.
