Mae West wrote ?Sex' in 1926 when she was unknown and deliberately gave the play a provocative title, although it is actually a moral tale about power dynamics between couples. Consequently, she was arrested, charged with obscenity and given a 10-day sentence.
She said this would be the making of her and she was right. ?Sex' was a great success and Mae West became a Hollywood Star.
Why not come and see the play that made her a legend!
