2020 saw Clive Gregson?s 40th year in the music business when he was due to mark the end of an era as he?d decided to retire from solo touring at the end of the year. Yes, you?ve guessed it, the pandemic put paid to that! To belatedly celebrate his illustrious four-decade career, Clive will be fitting in as many live dates as practically possible this autumn.
He had also planned to release a new album in every month during 2020 ? all different, all new, all original! The January offering, One Year ?Quite simply, one of the best albums of his career?, followed by Raggedy Ass in February? ?So, another month, another great Gregson album' And yes, you?ve guessed it again, this plan was significantly disrupted, although he has managed to produce eight so far.
Born and raised in Manchester Clive relocated to the USA in 1993 and was based in Nashville, then Houston for a large part of his musical life. An accomplished singer, musician and record producer of world-renown he first attracted attention, when his now legendary band Any Trouble burst onto the music scene. He also formed the ground-breaking duo with Christine Collister and over the years has toured with others including Richard Thompson, Eddi Reader, Boo Hewerdine, Nanci Griffith and Dennis Locorriere.
Clive?s live solo shows are something truly memorable and definitely not to be missed. He?s one of the most respected songwriters of his time, releasing a steady stream of stunning albums throughout his career and an amazing guitarist. Many of his songs recorded by a host of contemporaries.
