Thinking Thursdays is a new weekday initiative from Southampton City Council Cultural Services, exploring the rich history and heritage of the town. Each session is different, but it could be a talk, tour or something entirely different!
Join Egyptologist and author Hilary Wilson to uncover the story of King Taharqa, a Pharaoh whose colourful life 2,700 years ago impacted greatly on the world around him.
Twenty-five years ago, discovered hidden away in a Southampton museum store room, was a rare statue of Taharqa, one of the few pharaohs to be named in the Bible. This internationally significant discovery poses several questions. Where did he come from, how did he end up in Southampton and where is he now...?
In the unlikely event of our having to cancel a session, we will offer a full refund. Unfortunately tickets are otherwise non-refundable. Please contact us if you wish to transfer your ticket to a friend if you cannot attend for any reason.
