Rouhangeze & Tomasz Bura
?
Rouhangeze is a contemporary multi-genre singer-songwriter, and composer born and bred on the beautiful and all intoxicating island of Mauritius. With ease, soul, and versatility, her velvet vocal tones reflect the emotion and beauty of her homeland, in a smooth ascension of melody, technique, and heart. Her timing and delivery of phrases create an unforgettable feeling of joy in the listener. A singer of depth encased with a velvet tone, sensuality and by far, uniquely different from the flock. She teams up with polish piano extraordinaire and composer Tomasz Bura. His spirited and playful energy effortlessly supports the singing of Rouhangeze, with an interesting twist, interaction and complicity.

?An incredible writer and singer who delivers soulful and raw emotions?- Linley Marthe (Grammy- winning bassist, The Joe Zawinul Syndicate, Nguyên Lê, Louis Winsberg, Karim Ziad, Trilok Gurtu, Didier Lockwood, Paco Séry?)

"Tomasz's glowing technical ability is matured to the point that one senses he doesn't need to think... he just performs, allowing him to produce music that sounds as if it's being played by a pianist well beyond his years."- Mike Gates, UK Vibe

Alex Hitchcock's new collaboration series with guitarist Ant Law, ?Same Moon in the Same World,? is a call for solidarity and connection translated into music. The series takes its name from a line in Haruki Murakami?s 1999 novel Sputnik Sweetheart: 'we?re both looking at the same moon in the same world. We?re connected to reality by the same line.? Recorded remotely across multiple continents in 2020 and 2021 in response to a time of unprecedented isolation and atomisation, the first album in the series features guest contributions from vibraphonist Joel Ross, pianist Shai Maestro, bassists Linda May Han Oh, Ben Williams and Jasper Høiby, and drummers Jeff Ballard, Kendrick Scott, Sun-Mi Hong and Eric Harland.
