A winter evening of experimental excellence?
RATTLE - Drum duo Rattle is the spellbinding musical project of Katharine Eira Brown and Theresa Wrigley, weaving hypnotic intertwining beats with rich, melodic vocals to create music that is both minimal and expansive, both experimental and insanely danceable. Rattle?s two excellent albums Rattle (2016) and Sequence (2018) received great reviews and led to the band touring with artists including Animal Collective, Protomartyr, The Julie Ruin and Thurston Moore Group.
R.DYER ? Brighton-based artist R.Dyer uses loop pedal, musical saw, saxophone, nose flute, found sounds, homemade instruments and household objects to create performances which move from baroque-pop to mesmerising soundscapes via acapella lullabies and site-specific rituals. R.Dyer?s debut album Little Victories is released in December 2022 and it is full of heart and full of tunes. Influences include: Owen Pallett, The Books, Shooby Taylor, The Hidden Cameras, musique concrete, Jonathan Richman and Harpo Marx.
THE MYSTERIOUS MONOPOLE ? The brainchild of Emily K (one sixth of brilliant Brighton queer feminist noise-pop legends Slum of Legs), The Mysterious Monopole brings electronics, noise, hand tools and crunchy crispbreads to create performances that are visceral, liberating and life-affirmingly joyous.
