A contemplative programme for Remembrance, featuring the beautiful 'Requiem' by Herbert Howells, alongside William Byrd's 'Propers for All Saints Day', celebrated in early November. The texts for these two central works provide a thread throughout the rest of the programme with different renderings of the same texts by Tallis, Walford-Davies Stanford and Tomkins. The programme also featues music by Imogen Holst and contemporary composer, Kerensa Briggs, which are paired with Harris' famous double-choir anthem 'Faire is the Heaven'. The music is interspersed with reflective piano solos and readings in what promises to be an intimate yet highly emotional evening.
