Acclaimed Black Country singer-songwriter, composer and spoken word artist Dan Whitehouse and Brooklyn's celebrated hammered dulcimer player Max ZT (of the trio House of Waters) mark the release of their collaboration 'Ten Steps? with a second UK tour.
They will perform music from 'Ten Steps? alongside solo material, as well as improvising in the moment, to create an interwoven set of spoken word, song and virtuoso instrumentation. The material fuses multi-cultural traditions with shared beliefs in the importance of music for communication and well-being.

The pair met and collaborated online between New York and Japan (where Dan spent much of lockdown) as part of the international Global Music Match programme in 2021. Feeding off each other?s unique creativity, they have created an exquisite sound.

Max ZT is a lauded innovator, described by NPR as the ?Jimi Hendrix of hammered dulcimer?. Although he takes his roots from Irish folk music, he has created complex and beautiful compositions and expanded that influence through studying in Senegal with the Cissoko griot family and to India, where he received a grant to study under the santoor master Pandit Shivkumar Sharma. Signed to Six Degrees Records, Max is releasing his debut solo album this year.
Dan Whitehouse has, across six solo albums, gained a golden reputation as ?a fine songwriter, a unique vocal talent and a talented multi-instrumentalist/ performer? (Maverick) whose wondrous lyrics invite you to ?avert your gaze to the sky? (BBC Radio 6).
