ABOUT THE SHOWS
Last year Claqueur Impro Theatre ran a series of Club Nights to small, mostly invited audience. These were preview shows of a free form style of improvisation which have been developing over the past two years. Becoming better improvisers is a never-ending process. Creating plays in the moment is especially challenging, of improvisation and, we all believe, the most enriching. The Rusthall Club is our home venue, it's where the performance group meet every Tuesday to practice. We cannot prepare the plays themselves we create them in the moment, but we can hone our skills to keep taking the work to the next level. Our focus has been very much on improving our responses to our stage partner in two-hander 20-minute scenes. Over the coming year we want to do more public shows and explore doing full length plays, creating them with more actors on stage, expanding imagery and physical theatre. The Club shows more experimental, it's where we test things out - Although you might think there's not many bigger risks in theatre than to go on stage and create a play with no plan or foresight as to what it's about - there is always more we can do to expand the work and explore new possibilities. However, each actor committed to our concept that theatre essentially the relationship between actors and the audience, it's a totally shared experience. Come and share the evening with us and discover what we can create together.
