Description

Night River Presents: DG Solaris & Izzie Yardley

DG Solaris is the project of musician Danny Green. He was raised in the wilds of West Yorkshire and began writing songs at 13. Gradually, he developed the confidence to make songwriting the central feature of his life. Between 2008-2018, he released music under the name Laish, delivering four albums of wry, eccentric guitar pop. In 2020, he released his first as DG Solaris, with a more psychedelic sound called, ?Spirit Glow?. 2021 saw a host of new singles released and a new Youtube series of intimate live recordings and collaborations with musical friends called, 'Songs from the Blue Room'. As a performer, Danny is a rakish front man, making the audience laugh in one song and reducing them to bittersweet tears the next. In 2022 he launched Night River, a series of intimate live shows in Frome, where he now lives.

Izzie Yardley is a spellbinding singer/songwriter whose debut EP was recorded last year with producer Dom Monks (Big Thief, Sam Brookes), Ethan Johns (Ray Lamontagne, Crosby, Stills & Nash) and Nick Pini (Laura Marling, Mary Chapin Carpenter). Recently she has recorded vocals for Tom Jones and Freddie Cowan (The Vaccines), supported Ida Mae, sold out Green Note, London, and been backed by PRS Foundation and Help Musicians. Her distinctive writing style comes from a background in jazz, classical and the classic 70s songbook, while on stage she delivers a performance both powerful and vulnerably honest.

Don't miss your chance to see one of the finest Frome artists perform in the gorgeous Norton St Philip Church.

Child tickets 2-16 available for £5. Under 2s go free.
