Jeremy?s voice and piano playing are steeped in the sound and style of Brother Ray. He?ll be mixing a selection of Ray Charles classics alongside a choice selection of soul and swing standards.
UK based Jazz & Blues singer/pianist Jeremy is one of the UK?s most in-demand singer/pianists. Either solo, or with his band, he captivates audiences with his natural, soulful voice, and a repertoire of his arrangements of jazz, blues, groove and soul classics.
He also fronts his own big band project, which tributes the music of Ray Charles. The band features saxophonist Iain Dixon and guitarist Mike Walker amongst other jazz luminaries and it has headlined the major UK festivals, most recently gracing the main stage at Love Supreme Festival 2019 and Scarborough Jazz Festival 2019.
In 2014, he recorded his version of the Marc Cohn song ?The Things We?ve Handed Down? which featured on BBC Radio 4?s Desert Island Discs and then hit no. 1 in the iTunes vocal download chart.
His most recent album ?Jeremy Sassoon & Friends Live? was recorded at PizzaExpress Jazz Club, Soho, featuring Berlin drumming legend Michael Kersting (Jaco Pastorius, Chet Baker, Bireli LaGrene, Randy Brecker) and Alexander Bone (BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2014, British Jazz Awards ?Rising Star?)
