A two-day event will be held at The Laithwaite Stadium, home of Woking Football Club, on the 24th and 25th June to celebrate the music and influence of local hero, Paul Weller, and his groups; The Jam and The Style Council.
Nicky Weller and Stuart Deabill will be curating a series of talk events including Q&As with former bandmates, designers and photographers who have worked with The Jam, The Style Council and Paul, including Mick Talbot, Jaye-Ella Ruth (formally known as Williamson), Stewart Prosser, Bill Smith, Lawrence Watson, Camelle Hinds and special guests.
There will be Classic Album Playback, where Stuart and Joe Dwyer from The Perpetual Motion Radio Show will discuss TSC?s Cafe Bleu and The Jam?s All Mod Cons, track by track, with a key figure involved with each record.
And, in the evening, there will be music from the fabulous The Style Councillors and one of the hottest young bands in the UK today, The Molotovs.
And before and after the bands have played, DJs Sonny and Suited and Booted will keep the party going.
Dan Jennings, of the Desperately Seeking Paul Podcast, will be MC for the weekend and main interviewer.
There will also be stalls onsite selling clothing, records, books and other merchandise, as well as a scooter ride-out (more info to follow).
And, as an added bonus to kick off each day before the gates open, lifelong friend of the Wellers, Steve ?Tufty? Carver, will run a special Tufty Tour each day, taking in the local haunts and hangouts of his and Paul?s formative years. Tickets for the tour will be sold separately at the end of March. Check socials for updates.
There will be food and drink available all day and a chance to meet everyone involved. There is free parking available onsite, and Woking Station is just 1.3 miles away.
