An exciting double bill showcasing young UK jazz talent.
Developed out of the award-winning Tomorrow?s Warriors Emerging Artist Development Programme, this formidable ensemble embodies the true Warrior spirit in more than just serious musical talent.
Drawing inspiration from the jazz greats, TWF (average age 18!) blends a contemporary vibe with elements of jazz fusion, funk and R&B. Featuring a mix of jazz standards and their own compositions, they channel the influences of Hank Mobley, Esperanza Spalding, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, NĂ©rija and many more.
Tomorrow?s Warriors? talent development programme has helped nurture an astounding list of award-winning alumni, including Nubya Garcia, Shabaka Hutchings, Ezra Collective, Moses Boyd, Isobella Burnham and Binker Golding.
At the heart of this incredible musical movement is the ethos of ?each one, teach one?, with each generation sharing their time and supporting the musicians that follow in their footsteps. The creative results are nothing short of inspiring and intoxicating, as witnessed in the new Tomorrow?s Warriors album, I Am Warrior.
