Thinking Thursdays: A Stroll Through Southampton's Parks Event Title Pic

Description

Thinking Thursdays is a weekday initiative from Southampton City Council Cultural Services, exploring the rich history and heritage of the town. Each session is different, but it could be a talk, tour or something entirely different!

Explore some of Southampton's beautiful parks with tour guide, local historian and author Martin Brisland from the award-winning See Southampton. Martin will lead you through the history of these remarkable open spaces and transport you to centuries gone by with stories of heroism, plague and war!

The tour will begin by the fountain outside the Central Library and City Art Gallery, will last about 90 minutes and will end at Hoglands Park. The tour will be carried out in a covid-secure manner. Please wear sensible footwear and bring a face covering. This tour will be keeping to the main paths to make it as accessible as possible.

Martin's books on local history are available for purchase at October Books, Waterstones, WH Smiths and other booksellers.

In the unlikely event of our having to cancel a session, we will offer a full refund. Unfortunately tickets are otherwise non-refundable. Please contact us if you wish to transfer your ticket to a friend if you cannot attend for any reason.
