A Hymn To Our City - From Park Hill To Orgreave From Fir Vale To Ringinglow Event Title Pic

Description

The poet Adrian Scott has been writing a collection of poems about his home city of Sheffield for the last 6 years and is in the process of publishing them. As the poems were being written he formed a collaboration with musician Andy Selman and they made an album entitled Made In Sheffield which featured musical settings to the poems. They have now teamed up with singer Wilma Scott and bassist Mike Smith to form Dusk Over Rivelin. Park Hill are the iconic flats that recently featured in Standing at the Sky?s Edge at the Crucible and the National theatre.

Dusk Over Rivelin are really excited to play at the South Street Kitchen in Park Hill Flats. Adrian has a number of poems that reference Park Hill. The café is a fabulous venue with a great view over the city. Its ambience lends itself perfectly to poetry, song and music. Park Hill speaks of our best and most challenging characteristics and we will try to do justice to it all! You will be able to spend a great spring evening - having a drink at the licensed bar - eating some of their great fare - hearing poetry and music - seeing Adrian?s photos all capturing many of the elements that make up this amazing city past present and future.

Parking is situated at the back of the café - SIP Parking, 105 Duke Street, Sheffield, S2 5QL.
