Description

The Country Soul Sessions would like to invite you to a special evening of Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Folk and Country Soul ?? ? ? ?

Sister Cookie

The Country Soul are delighted that blues chanteuse Sister Cookie and her amazing band will be making their CSS debut. After her fantastic performance at the recent crucial Roots Sisters Session we just had to invite her to come back and play for us some more. Sister Cookie and her band play a wonderful blend of jazz, rhythm & blues and soul. In 2022 she released her debut long player ?In The Blue Corner? (Liquid) to fine reviews "The album is lyrically rich throughout?.Sister Cookie?s band have the music nailed, conjuring up the atmosphere of smokey Speakeasy?s, and Parisian cellar bars, beautifully understated, but perfect.? (Rhythm and Booze). Expect to hear a combination of fine originals and the odd classy cover from The Black Rose Of The Blues and her great band. Be there.

Whiskey Moon Face

The amazing Whiskey Moon Face will also be making their CCS debut in June. Fronted by the very talented Louisa Jones (vocals, double bass, accordion, cornet, piano), WMF are a hot trio of fabulous multi instrument musicians also featuring Ewan Bleach (clarinet, sax, piano) and Dakota Jim Yidtse (vocals, double bass, accordion, piano). WMF are purveyors of a unique musical vision which combines threads of New Orleans jazz, blues and European folk with a gypsy vein but somehow this marvellous trio still manage to remain impossibly modern. Come and see Whiskey Moon Face do what they do in Soho, W1.
