A new name to The Black Swan Folk Club and one that looks like we?ll be hearing a lot of in the years to come.
Louise is rapidly making her mark on the Folk Scene. Returning to the UK a few years
ago, a chance collaboration with John McCusker to write Evie?s Lullaby (his music, her
lyrics) was a sign of things to come.
She started to gather bookings and a reputation for quality in 2022. In January 2023,
she won the Great British Folk Festival?s Introducing Stage Audience Vote. It?s the sort
of reception she gets wherever she plays.
In March she was invited to sing with McCusker, McGoldrick and Doyle at Sale
and York.
As a duo with her Dad Chris, she has released an album of 12 songs - ?Things That Matter?. His intricate guitar work and smooth vocal sits easily with her voice and piano. Together they come across as a relaxed duo who enjoy performing live.
Her arrangements of traditional and original material suit her ?pure and soaring voice?
(David Jones, Folk Northwest). More recording beckons later this year.
