Description

Shoon are a Sheffield based folk outfit formed in 2022. Heavily influenced by the British folk revival, they play their own interpretations of mostly traditional songs with the occasional contemporary song or self penned number thrown in. The bands music revolves around Rebecca?s rich and captivating vocals, Ric?s intricate fingerstyle guitar work and Johnny?s driving double bass.

Rebecca Hearne
Rebecca comes from a family tradition of English and Irish folk music and embraces the pure joy that only singing can provide. She sources the most interesting, creepy and unusual ballads to add to her collection, and has been recently described as the Tyson Fury of folk singing.

John Griffiths / Johnny Griff
Johnny Griff is an active musician in the Sheffield scene and plays bass with Ash Grey and Burners and Banjo Jen amongst many others. Also playing guitar, violin and mandolin, his influences span Americana, folk, blues, rock and classical.

Ric Booth
Ric Booth is guitarist, songwriter, producer and composer based in Sheffield. Blues and folk were a central part of his upbringing and his playing is greatly influenced by fingerstyle guitarists such as Bert Jansch, John Martyn, Nic Jones and Matin Carthy.
Ric has performed with many artists in a variety of genres. He currently performs with Shoon, The 20ft Squid Blues Band, ROSH, Slow Galleys Drift and Laik.
