A Saturday party off the scale with the Harem of No One, a Middle Eastern queer collective creating the first ever drag-cabaret band combining bellydance, singing, cabaret dancing, comedy and live instruments!
The Harem of No One are a collective of queer and feminist performers of Turkish, Kurdish, Cypriot and Southwest Asian heritage living in London. They take inspiration from harems of the past, where women and queer folk, ?owned? by a powerful male figure, were enslaved and sexually abused; but at the same time there was a culture of solidarity and creation of art, beauty and eroticism. They got rid of the toxic owner, and liberated themselves, united in a desire to show their art, beauty and sexualities through performance, art, music and love; while creating a safe space for their communities.
Jamboree is a grass-roots world music venue and bar hosting Folk, Blues, Americana, Celtic, Mediterranean, Eastern, European, GypsyPunk and Old Time Jazz!
