Thrilled to be welcoming Publicity Department to town! Caught singer Sean?s band Brunch at a festival a few years ago and loved them, excited to see this new outfit bring the fuzz while also bringing the pop!

Taking influence from his songwriting heroes David Gedge, Brian Wilson, John Cale and John Shuttleworth; Sean Brook started Publicity Department as a side project from Brunch (London alt- rock triers - ?the lost middle ground of Los Campesinos! and Fugazi I didn?t know I?d always wanted? ? For The Rabbits) intending it as an outlet for his pop sensibilities whilst retaining the fuzzed-out feel of 90s alt-rock.

In 2022 Publicity Department expanded into a four-piece band featuring Tom Rundell (Brunch), Seb Gilmore (Public Body) and Joshua Belcher (Bloody Death) and together they made an album, recorded and mixed by Tom Hill at The Bookhouse studio in London over a weekend in January 2022.

Of this new material so far one single has been released, ?Ambassador? - the first official Publicity Department release since the debut album ?Loom?, released in 2018 on Hanger Records.

Regarding ?Ambassador? Brook says: ?it?s about an aristocrat or oligarch or something, briefly experiencing a wave of doubt and self-reflection before realising he doesn?t care and carrying on exactly as before. It?s about living life and not worrying too much, but also about how worrying and self-doubt are an essential part of being a decent person?
