Hi all, cost & info below, Please join everyone for a stunning 3 mile or 4.5 mile beautiful, fascinating walk, see the houses that are there, but are not there! Where Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts got married in the ?Notting Hill? film, the only mews left in London where there are horse stables still used, where Peter Pan was written, you will see the site of Britain's first department store, amazing churches if open, where you would think you are in Russia or Jerusalem, rarely seen parts of Hyde Park to see glimpses of the Victorian Pet Cemetery that closed in 1903, the fascinating Elfin oak (pictured), the home of British comedy and where Dr.Who?s daleks were created, inventor Marconi?s home (SOS message for the Titanic ship), fabulous walk through part of Hyde Park and the giant round pond, Peter Pan statue and an amazing secret gem!
Toilets on the opposite side of the road from the station, 20p to use..
4.5 mile walk starts and ends at Lancaster Gate Station, please meet outside the front of the station
3 mile walk ends 100 meters from nearby Queensway Station, you would have to make your own way to the station, from where the cut-off point is mentioned.
Elfin oak, fabulous walk through part of Hyde Park and Peter Pan statue are not on this section of the walk

RSVP and arrive on the day of the walk, £9 cash/card payment. Feel free to turn up on the day whether the 'Early Bird' option below is sold out or not. No need for early bird ticket in advance; it's as simple as that!
(or) CHEAPER 'EARLY BIRD' £6 IN ADVANCE
There is an additional option to pay cheaper in advance for £6. The 'early bird' payment works exactly like some music festivals for example, where you have the 'cheaper' early bird option before the event, instead of the on-the-day payment option above. The limited 'early bird' tickets are taken off sale about a week before the date listed for the meetup event, or the tickets may even sell out sooner!

WHERE TO MEET Please meet outside the front of Lancaster Gate Station (Central Line)
The streets and garden squares are lined with Victorian stucco terraces,
Queensway and Westbourne Grove are its busiest high streets, both having many international ethnic-cuisine
The land now called Bayswater belonged to the Abbey of Westminster when the Domesday Book was compiled; the most considerable tenant under the abbot was Bainiardus, Norman associate of the Conqueror who gave his name to Baynard's Castle.
Always remarkable for its springs of excellent water, once supplied water to Baynard, his household, or his cattle; that the memory of his name was preserved in the neighbourhood for six centuries; and that his watering-place now takes the abbreviated name Bayswater.

IF LATE, SORRY WE ARE UNABLE TO RECEIVE CALLS OR ANSWER EMAILS AS WELCOMING MEMBERS, LEADING THE WALK, AND CONCENTRATING ON THE SAFETY OF THE GROUP. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CATCH THE GROUP UP, PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.
Part Tour - Medium pace walk from 'Visit England' Award-Winning Guide and our group featured in the National Press! Please Note: Some events, being a large attended meetup group will be an organised walk only, but members are very welcome to organise their own get-togethers after the event.
You are required to be fit and healthy with appropriate footwear & clothing, responsible for meeting at the correct location, own safety and to not lose the group by viewing the organiser/making the organiser aware as much as possible, or follow/not lose sight of the person(s) from the same walk in front. We advise carrying water and some snacks.
The organiser is also not responsible for any circumstances that may affect the group or personally such as personal accidents, rail information, engineering works, cancellations, rail strikes or delays, heavy traffic, tours affected, weather, walk paths or routes closed, postcodes for car parks or for when we arrive back at the station, or anything else not mentioned!
