TOP comedians and an MC perform cutting edge stand up at Kettering Arts Centre?s monthly RITA Comedy Club!

Headliner MARKUS BIRDMAN is one of British comedy?s most experienced and well-travelled performers.

In demand all over the UK and abroad, Markus is a veteran of the Edinburgh Fringe with 11 solo shows to his credit and headliner status at all the top clubs, including The Comedy Store, The Komedia, Hot Water, The Stand and Soho Theatre. He?s performed at the Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth Comedy Festivals and was nominated by the New Zealand Comedy Guild for Best International Guest. His international gig list includes Pakistan, Singapore, China, UAE, Austria, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Finland and India to name a few. Which has been nice, considering no-one?s now going anywhere.

Markus had his own Netflix Stand Up Special, ?Live in Amsterdam? & was also co-writer on Jayde Adams?s Amazon Prime Stand Up Special, ?Serious Black Jumper?. One of the shining lights of the UK and international comedy circuits.

BGT Semi Finalist 2018 MANDY MUDEN is the only woman ever to combine Comedy and Magic on the UK Comedy and Corporate circuits.

Mandy has a striking personality with a razor sharp wit and so creates a fantastic rapport, offering a great line in audience participation. She can adapt her show to any type of event and audience. Having performed all over the world from Comedy Clubs to the most prestigious corporate events.

ROSIE WILBY is an award-winning comedian who has appeared many times on BBC Radio 4 programmes including Woman?s Hour, Loose Ends, The Human Zoo and Four Thought, at major festivals including Latitude and Glastonbury and in the finals of several major comedy competitions.

Her first book Is Monogamy Dead? was shortlisted for the Diva Literary Awards 2017, longlisted for the Polari First Book Prize 2018 and followed her TEDx talk of the same name. Her trilogy of solo shows investigating love and relationships began with The Science of Sex, which has been performed all over the UK, in New York, Los Angeles, Sydney and Berlin, and ended with The Conscious Uncoupling, which toured to venues including London?s Southbank Centre and was shortlisted for Funny Women Best Show.

Rosie also presents The Breakup Monologues podcast, which has been recommended by Chortle, The Observer, Metro and Time Out, writes for publications including The Guardian, Sunday Times and New Statesman and appears as a commentator on sexuality, dating and love on TV programmes including Good Morning Britain, radio shows including LBC?s Lucy Beresford on Sex and Relationships and podcasts including The Guilty Feminist.


TONY COWARDS is a rapidfire gag merchant with an arsenal full of one-liners, for laughs-per-minute he?s tough to beat! ?The Punosaurus? The List. His quick wit and vast array of jokes has made him a sought after act and compere by comedy clubs and promoters across the UK and internationally.

Something of a Twitter sensation, Tony?s jokes turn up in all sorts of places, from greetings cards to The Times newspaper, even if you?ve never heard of him there?s a good chance that you?ll have laughed at one of his gags. Tony?s likable ?everyman? character and wide ranging humour (from ?clean? to downright ?blue?) means he is comfortable in front of any audience and is regularly booked to host comedy nights for the military (from the Irish Guards to the Royal Army Dental Corps to top brass at Norwood HQ), universities, football, rugby, golf and cricket clubs, music festivals and for corporate and after dinner work.

Tony is also an accomplished MC and has had residencies at several clubs in London, Essex and the South-West, he expertly warms up audiences and sets up rooms so that everyone has a great night. In 2013, Tony supported Billy Pearce on tour at London?s Bloomsbury Theatre and won the AudioGo Comedy Competition. In July 2014, he won third place in the prestigious ?English Comedian of the Year? competition. 2017 Winner of ?Best Stand Up Award? at Swindon Fringe Festival.
