Description

'The Train Set, originally from Crewe, were formed in the mid 80?s. They were signed to the Playhard record label in Manchester run by Dave Haslam and Nathan McGough and they released their first 12? EP ?She?s Gone? in 1988; it was single of the week in NME and the highest new entry in the Indie chart when it was released. They toured with bands such as The Happy Mondays and James in the late 80s and released a second 12? EP ?Hold On? in 1989.

Following the release of the compilation album ?Never California? in 2016 by Berlin record label Firestation Records, the nucleus of the band, Clive Jones, Adam Halford and Dave Hassall got back together. They have been joined by guitarist Jason Woolley (ex Angels With Dirty Faces) and bassist Andy Pennance (ex Colours Out Of Time). The band are writing and recording new material at Wunderlust Studios in Shropshire, as well as revisiting their back catalogue at gigs in 2023.'

The Friendly Campaign formed in 1983 , most of us were from the ashes of local Punk bands, over the years many different people past through the ranks, the current lineup have worked together in various bands for over 30yrs. I decided to rest the band up about 12 yrs ago , recently we discovered there was still interest in the band so we started to rehearse the old material and we actually put together some new stuff, we have played a few shows and all's going exceptionally well, the music itself very melodic, heavily influenced by late 60s early 70s pop music with real attitude.
