The Mountain Firework Company first came together over heartache and wine (above a pub*) to create what has been described as "gorgeous folk/alt country pop, with equal parts darkness and cheeky humour and "alternative bluegrass with a dark treacle folk centre
Described as Celtic bedsit bluegrass their unique brand of Folk/Americana is built on the solid foundations of American mountain music but with an added twist of Celtic Folk and a dash
of Bed-sit Singer-Songwriter angst. Their trademark cocktail of dynamic drive and reflective power comes from combining traditional acoustic instrumentation (banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitars, double bass & added beef from a drum kit)
with that dark thread of subject matter that runs direct from old Appalachian folk song right up to modern country noir .Mournful and upbeat, with a strong Gaelic influence, The Mountain Firework Company's driving and melodic sound takes the traditional blue grass line up in a new direction .
