Aoife Scott: Live At The Greys

Event Type

Genre : Music - Folk/blues/world

Description

terrace cred. presents:
Based in Dublin, an entrancing performer with a voice that is, one moment, fragile and ethereal, the next, strong and vibrant.
It doesn't hurt, of course, that Aoife Scott is born into the musical Black family (her mum is Frances Black, her brother Eoghan Scott and aunt Mary Black) but Aoife's creativity, largely influenced by her roots in folk and Irish music, is taking her into fresh realms and success.
After a wondrous show at The Greys last autumn, how could terrace cred. resist the chance to bring Aoife back to this `most intimate little venue next spring?
Since then, Aoife has toured Ireland and has been playing an extended tour of the USA, before setting out on fresh Irish dates in the autumn. Aoife curates her 'Women Of Note' shows and also gets to dep. on RT? Radio 1 shows.
And then - back to the UK and back to The Greys, with Andy Meaney, as ever, providing fine guitar alongside.
Don't miss her.
Aoife's second album, 'Homebird', recorded in Nashville and Dublin, is produced by Ron Block (of Alison Krauss & Union Station / 'Oh Brother...' soundtrack) has received number 1 sales, acclaim and led to awards including ASLR Celtic Music Awards Female Vocalist of the Year 2020 / ASLR Celtic Music Awards Female Vocal Album of the Year 2021.
This recognition follows a stream of success and awards since her single 'All Along The Atlantic Way' knocked Ed Sheeran off the Number One spot in Ireland and was named 'Single Of The Year' at The Irish folk awards 2017 *(it's worth a read, so take a look below).
'An important installment in the legacy of traditional Irish music.' Irish Echo.
'A fiery passionate young talent springing from a fine musical family.' HotPress
