Description

The Lyric present a cheerful selection of music for the windy late autumn season. As the days shorten, we reach back into history with Grieg who masterfully mixes Baroque dance tunes with Norwegian folk, and then further back to the 18th century for the neat harmonies and energetic melodies of Vivaldi and Telemann. Moving forward to the 20th century, we conclude with Holst presenting charming British folk tunes through the lens of the string orchestra.
