This concert is a fundraising event for the St Thomas The Martyr church and Up Holland Community Hub Building Fund, to help provide funds for the planned disabled car park. ALL proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the fund and no fee is being taken by the performing artists or helpers.
THE HUERS
The Huers are an acoustic duo based in the North West, comprising of Phil Caffrey and Ian Cleverdon. They are known for their varied acoustic arrangements and tight vocal harmonies. Formed in 2009, they not only write their own though-provoking songs but also put their own musical stamp on songs by other artists. They have toured around the UK as acoustic demonstrators of Bose portable PA systems at national guitar shows and events, and have also supported several well-known touring acts, including Lindisfarne's Rod Clements, Brooks Williams and Boo Hewerdine.
NINUDA
Ninuda is a trio based in Southport and Liverpool, featuring the amazing vocal talent of Nuala O'Hagan, the top-notch songwriting and guitar skills of Nigel Mawdsley, and the multi-instrumental flavourings of David Cox. They will be opening for The Huers on the night with a mix of their own songs and great covers from the likes of The Kinks and Del Amitri.
This is the first concert being held in the fabulous Dean Wood Golf Club function room, and will be hosting a series of great national and international touring musical acts promoted by Ian Cleverdon's Karona Sessions, starting with Belinda O'Hooley (O'Hooley & Widow) on her UK solo tour, starting in Feb 2024. Make sure to follow Karona Sessions page on Facebook or karonasound.co.uk/sessions to find out more.
There is a large car park, disabled access and a bar. Doors open 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm. Seating is unreserved and will be in cabaret style. There will be two brief intervals and the bar will be closed during the performances.
We do hope you can join us for a great night of music for a great cause.
