Description

Hot on the heels from playing the Cambridge Folk Festival and UK Americana Music Week in 2023, Australian singer-songwriter Nigel Wearne returns to the UK this winter.

Hailing from Gunditjmara country in the deep south of Australia, Wearne is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with diverse influences such as Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Rickie Lee Jones. A deep thinker and truth seeker with a penchant for all things peculiar, he sings of human frailty, grace and the cosmos; songwriting that cuts to the bone.

Nigel has toured Australia, New Zealand, the US, UK and Canada and performed at a long list of music festivals, including AmericanaFest (USA), Port Fairy Folk Festival (AUS), MerleFest (USA) and the Adelaide Guitar Festival (AUS). His sophomore album, Black Crow garnered wide critical acclaim including a 4-STAR review in Rolling Stone and debuted at #1 on Australia?s AMRAP Charts.

His new album The Reckoning has received early praise with the first three singles earning him a nomination for Best Blues Work at the Music Victoria Awards. Inhabiting the after-dark realms of blues, jazz, soul and Americana-noir, The Reckoning is a full band explosion of songs, stories and musical mayhem. All the while, Wearne's crooning, cutting, monolithic vocal keeps lyricism and poetry at the forefront.

Join Nigel on his third tour of the UK for what promises to be an enlivening and captivating solo performance.
