The Line up
Noelle O Sullivan
Born in Co Limerick, Ireland, Noelle grew up in Glin, a village that lies on the banks of the Shannon Estuary. Her home was steeped in traditional Irish music and song, emanating from her fatherâ??s love of singing and playing the fiddle. A regular performer in the locality, Noelle frequently accompanied him and began honing her craft as a singer.
At the age of seventeen, Noelle left home to study in NUI Maynooth. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Communications. While working as a Multimedia Scriptwriter in Dublin, Noelleâ??s passion for singing and creating music never left her. She frequented many Singer Songwriter nights in The Bankers Bar, Trinity Street and then went on to study voice in Newpark School of Music, South Dublin. It was here that she met an array of talented musicians who would later play on her album of self-penned compositions entitled Seeds. A series of gigs around Dublin followed to promote the album.
Noelle is the genuine article when it comes to singer songwriters. Her sound is beautiful, captivating and urges us all to listen. Thereâ??s a contemplative sincerity to the tracks My Lord and Tinted Glass. The first track, Sunny Days, with its distinctive groovy sound, was picked up by the producers of the British soap Hollyoaks and featured on a number of episodes.
Notable past performances include support for singer songwriter Mick Flannery, duetting with fiddler John Sheehan and performing for the actor Dominic West?s nuptials.
With the desire to incorporate music into her work life, Noelle qualified as a primary school teacher from Plymouth Marjon University, Devon, UK. She now teaches in Co. Kerry, all the while continuing to create and perform music. She has hosted a popular Singer Songwriter Club in John B Keanes, Listowel, encouraging other artists to write and perform their own material. Her thirst for creative exploration is unfading and she is currently writing new material, which will be recorded in the coming months. Merfy
Based in Ealing and formerly a solo studio project, Merfy began developing as a live act in late 2021 when songwriter John Murphy sought to put together a small band to perform his songs live acoustically, alongside lead guitarist and longtime collaborator Saulo Valerio. John met singer Maninder Murfin through a community choir and she joined them in early 2022. The serendipity took them somewhat by surprise, inspiring them to write new material especially for the trio sound.
Over the last year Merfy have been wowing local audiences with their blend of dreamy vocal harmonies, sophisticated folk- and jazz-tinged guitar work, and thoughtful, uplifting lyrics.
