A very special night at The Crypt as pianist Adrian Reid brings his fine quartet to play for us. Adrian has featured at the club from its beginning, along with all the members of this band. It's going to be a great gig.
Adrian Reid on playing at The Crypt -
" I?m really looking forward to this one as these musicians are the most sought after on the scene today. As a result we don?t get a chance to all meet up but when we do the magic happens. We?ll be playing original tracks from our last album, standards with a contemporary twist, and debuting new material from our soon to be recorded album. It?s also my birthday so you are welcome to celebrate with me. The personnel joining me for this concert are: Tony Kofi, alto and soprano Saxophone; Larry Bartley, bass; and Rod Youngs on drums. Individually and collectively they have played with such luminaries as: Abdullah Ibrahim, The World Saxophone Quartet, Ornette Coleman and Gil Scott?Heron. I too have been honoured to have worked with: Adelaide Hall, Archie Shepp, Branford Marsalis, Chet Baker, Annie Ross and Mavis Staples amongst others. It has been a great journey so far. I hope we can share those musical vistas with you.'
