On Friday 26th April we welcome back the powerful blues rock outfit Born Healer to Joe Joe Jims.
The band - consisting of Helen Turner (vocals), Iain Black (guitars), Marek Funkas (bass) and Steve Weaver (drums and backing vocals) - have gone from strength to strength over the past couple of years with a new album release ("A winner all the way", Blues In Britain; "One of the class acts around at the moment", Music-News.com), main stage appearances at HRH Blues, Upton Blues Festival, Alfold Rock & Blues, Cambridge Rock blues stage, along with releasing the 'Since Blind Coffee, Free Sunshine' EP!
Based in south west London, Helen Turner and Iain Black are both past British Blues Award nominees (and had an album voted one of the top albums of 2013 by Classic Rock: The Blues magazine), Marek Funkas is an in-demand London musician who has played major venues with top international touring artists, and performs and records with Polish band Laba, Steve Weaver, based in West Sussex, has toured nationally as drummer in original, tribute and function bands, plays congas in electric duo Tote Perello, and is lead singer in AC/DC tribute band, Bad Boy Boogie!
