Description

The Red Note Festival #2 is a night of music to fund-raise for Buxton Branch Labour party featuring Danielle Banks, Del Scott Miller and Rebecca Kay with Rich Whitehouse.

Danielle Banks is a Canadian singer-songwriter now based in Buxton. She sings, plays guitar, and writes a lot of songs. She likes writing story songs and local songs - there is even one about the local naked runner! A regular in Buxton venues (The Green Man Gallery, Club Acoustic, The Sun Inn) Danielle has even sung at Buxton Opera House. Recently shehas been heard singing her songs at venues in Sheffield, Liverpool, Inverness, Italy & Victoria in Canada. Growing up listening to contemporary folk music her style is best described as Indie/Americana.

Del Scott Miller is an alternative folk songwriter and composer from South Yorkshire.
Underpinned by lyrical imagery and an inherently Northern delivery, Del's songs draw on jazz and classical influences as much as songwriters like Nick Drake, Billy Bragg, Elliott Smith and Leonard Cohen. Having just graduated from Leeds Conservatoire with an MA in composition, Del's fifth and most ambitious solo album is due for release next autumn. "The words, vocals and music of ?Walk Me Home? are powerfully emotional... This is truly beautiful." Local Sound Focus

After several decades, Rebecca Kay returns to perform in her home town of Buxton. She will be joined by Rich Whitehouse to perform a selection of songs in a folk/ contemporary style, with rich harmonies, accompanied on guitar, bouzouki, banjo, concertina and mandolin.
