The evening is hosted by the Grove folk club and will hopefully be at the Grove Inn, but may be at the New Headingley Club due to the fire at the Grove in December 2023, if the Grove is still unabailable.
It will take the form of a conversation led by our very own Rachel Sutcliffe from the Leeds Conservatoire. Peggy will not be singing at this event but it will be a chance to reflect on the world of folk music from its revival onwards with an icon who has lived through and contributed so much along the way.
The evening will start with a number of floor spots.
?(Peggy Seeger) has done so much, lived so much, crammed so much in. Most of all, she has informed our appreciation of British and North American folk music, like very, very few people have. Then factor in her multiple roles in illuminating the folk, political song and feminist scenes and how her songs have enriched the folk idiom, and you have somebody worth getting amazed about." - Ken Hunt / fRoots
