Thrilled to be hosting the London leg of Sinews UK tour for their new EP ?Reanimated? with a fantastic free show at the Victoria!
Oxford?s Sinews will be bringing their unique brand of brooding but tuneful post hardcore / noise rock for their first London headline slot, following supports with the likes of Cassels, Other Half, Beige Palace, and Shake Chain. Fans of Fugazi, Drive Like Jehu, Mclusky and METZ might enjoy them.
They?ll be joined by new London powerhouse Theresa Kelly - triumphant math-core like Don Cab with a sunnier disposition maybe. Mostly instrumental and certainly sharp with the time signatures. https://theresakelly.bandcamp.com/album/live-demos
AND by brand new and incredibly exciting queer post punk no wave band Top Shortage! Will be an incredible night of wonderful noise - and it?s all FREE!
FYI the show is 18+ and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
The stunning 50’s bar island takes centre stage in the venue, illuminated, and boasting the kind of drinks offer you’d expect to find; JaguarShoes classic cocktails, locally brewed craft beers and a selection of new and old world wines.
The VICTORIA has a long standing heritage as a music venue, we plan to maintain that under JaguarShoes, but it’s also a great pub and it feels like for a long time that’s been overlooked.
The focus at the Victoria is premium Rum which seemed the obvious choice given the Caribbean influence on the area in recent decades and the fact that rum is not quite so serious a companion as it’s peers… Rum, can just be fun!
The music room at The Victoria has been on the radar of gig goers for more than 3 decades and is one of the best live rooms in East London. Ben Heath, who owned and ran infamous Shoreditch club CATCH (2001-2009), joins the founders of DreamBagsJaguarShoes in recreating this club.
In the Spring of 2015 we re-launched the space independently to the pub, working with the industry’s best promoters and building an exciting a new programme of live music and club nights.
