Bodys Presents: Catherine Rudie + Here's The Steeple Event Title Pic

Description

9.15pm Catherine Rudie
Catherine Rudie was originally a bagpipe player and Gaelic singer from Sutherland in the North Coast of Scotland. Based in London for many years, she now lives and works in Glasgow. Her uniquely observed and lushly melodic songs combine the traditional music she grew up playing with the beauty and strangeness of contemporary life. She often uses the experimental ROLI keyboard to create unusual electronic sound textures. Her exceptional debut album ?The Möbius Kiss? was released in November 2019 to widespread positive critical attention - with radio play on 6MUSIC, BBC Scotland and The Late Junction, BBC Radio 3, amongst many others.
?A fascinating debut. Her voice and folk melodies mesh with electronic sounds, warmly drawing you in.? ? Jude Rogers, The Guardian
?One to watch . We?re predicting big things.? - Nick Luscombe, The Late Junction, BBC RADIO 3
Catherine?s latest musical project ?So So Sad? with long term collaborator Chris Brambley is due to release a debut album in Summer 2024. Catherine and Chris also run ?The Window Sessions? ? a series of lovingly recorded intimate music performances in their own living room, published on Instagram and showcasing artists they know and love from London and their recently adopted home - Glasgow. They?ve also branched out into curating live gigs, building a shared music community between the two cities. Listen here https://www.catherinerudie.com/music
