The Tales of Witchcraft & Wonder events were established in 2016 by Gloucestershire band Inkubus Sukkubus as a way of celebrating the dark folklore and customs of Great Britain. They have variously been held in specially-chosen historic venues ? such as Blackfriars Priory; St Briavels Castle; The Barn at The Fleece, Bretforton; and The Folk of Gloucester.
In 2024, the band is celebrating its 35th Anniversary, and so they've chosen to return to the surrounds of The Fleece Inn's medieval stone barn set in the beautiful Worcestershire village of Bretforton. The National Trust-owned Fleece Inn is well known to lovers of good music and Morris dancing, and you can always expect good local ales and ciders on tap. It also has an interesting feature of witch marks preserved on the stone hearth of its fireplace, supposedly to prevent witches entering by the chimney... but we'll use the front door, and we welcome you to do so, too.
Support comes from Stroud-based Toadstone, who released their second full length album, Cernunnos, in 2023 - a nature-driven collective of songs inspired by heritage folk stories.
