Event Type

Genre : Music - General

Description

Doors 7pm

With support from Dobbo on at 7.30pm

'Dobbo can add a sprinking of sawdust to an evening's entertainment. His self- deprecating original lyrics can give an ironic twist on the day to day, and are a mix of light and dark semi-autobiographic songs. Whilst some have been described as 'witty ditties ', others are more emotive.
He also fronts the local alternative indie band 'The ZORBS'.

'A review of our Shrewsbury House concert in September by Dominic:
Tonight was a much-needed break from the usual bunk. Tucked away near Shooters Hill, and currently concealed behind scaffolding, sits Shrewsbury House, where tonight the Old Library played host to a gig by the local band Gillywood. I wasn't going in completely blind as they've played Severndroog before, but it was nice for once to be able to sit and soak up the entire show rather than catching snatches as I race up and down a castle. The music was a folk/country skew, some laments but also catchy hits - by the time we got to Jolene and Folsom Prison Blues even I was in danger of tapping my Vty's on the parquet. And with Rhiannon and Dreams in the set, basically as close as I'll ever be to seeing Fleetwood Mac live!'
