On Friday 22nd March Radio Costello hit the JJJ stage for their first visit, bringing their tribute to the excellent Elvis Costello & the Attractions!
Based in Birmingham, England this barnstorming tribute act brings together some of the Midlands most experienced musicians playing songs from the heyday of post-punk and new wave with a live sound very much recalls the energy of early Attractions gigs ? like their much-bootlegged show at the El Mocambo Club in Toronto, or on German TV for their breath-taking debut for Rockpalast.
Their setlist is largely drawn from a classic quartet of albums ? My Aim is True, This Year?s Model, Armed Forces and of course the amazing Get Happy, with songs like Pump it Up, Oliver?s Army, Radio Radio, Red Shoes, Watching the Detectives, Alison, Accidents Will Happen and a host of others that you may have forgotten that you love.
Don't miss what promises to be a fantastic night of live music from the early years of a song writing great back in the days when he was backed by a skilled set of musicians (Steve Nieve, Bruce Thomas and Pete Thomas) that drove every track along with great skill and power.
