Pianist and composer Reuben Goldmark was a finalist in the prestigious BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year competition in 2018 and has performed his compositions at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. Reuben?s music was also broadcast on BBC 4 and BBC Radio 3. He recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Kit Downes and is a recipient of the 2022 Dankworth Prize for composition.
For this performance Reuben will be joined by fellow RAM colleagues John Jones and Jonah Evans. The trio will play a set of original compositions by the bandleader. Expect lyrical melodies and hooks underpinned by high-tech grooves and metric modulations, as the trio shifts effortlessly between simplicity and complexity.
