Drawing on influences from jazz, folk, soul & theatre, his lyrics are written with piercing vulnerability, but delivered with refreshing humour and impeccable vocal dexterity. His harmonic arcs defy expectations in their twists and transitions, yet conclude with a satisfying inevitability reminiscent of Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen. Last time here, he was simply astonishing.
